About Us

Lovelace and Bear consists of husband and wife David and Jessie, and their senior border collie dog Lucy (aka Bear). Jessie makes colourful, playful art inspired by animals, nature, and all things magical. Her art uses a combination of traditional and digital techniques including pencil crayon, acrylic paints, watercolours, inks, and collage. David uses his tech wizardry skills to turn this art into greetings cards and patterns, and Bear makes sure that they both take regular breaks to rub her tummy. Lovelace and Bear hq is based at their home in South Yorkshire. Everything is created by them, without the use of generative AI in any form. Printing is outsourced in order to make sure that their products are the highest possible quality.

When she’s not covered in paint or clinging to her apple pencil, Jessie enjoys playing World of Warcraft, watching horror films and doing all the crafts. David spends his free time making music, watching heist films and sometimes gaming with Jessie (although sadly never World of Warcraft). Bear spends most of her time sleeping and getting her tummy rubbed, with the odd break to eat some chicken.
